Two goals from Kris Commons have put Celtic on course for a win that could see them extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
The opener came after five minutes when Anthony Stokes's initial shot at goal was punched away by Faroe Islands keeper Gunnar Nielsen, but only as far as Commons, who tucked home the rebound.
Celtic continued to impose themselves on their opponents and ought to have increased their lead midway through the half when Efe Ambrose rose highest to meet a cross, but he guided his header over the bar.
Commons doubled the Hoops' advantage six minutes before the break from the penalty spot after Stokes was brought down by Nielsen inside the area.
Emilio Izaguirre almost put the game beyond doubt with the half-time whistle approaching when his shot from the edge of the box drifted narrowly wide of the Motherwell goal.
Celtic started the game ten points ahead of second-placed Aberdeen.
