Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has said that he is determined to play more games after making his comeback from a series of knee injuries in his side's 1-1 pre-season friendly draw against Dynamo Dresden yesterday.

Gordon kept a clean sheet in his 45-minute appearance, his first taste of football since featuring for Sunderland in April 2012.

Having got a taste of a game situation for the first time in more than two years, Gordon has set his sights on more first-team action in the coming months.

"I was a little nervous but I get that before every game," said Gordon in the Mail on Sunday. "It felt like a big moment for me. I've worked really hard over the past couple of years to get to this point and although it was only 45 minutes it's definitely a step in the right direction for me.

"I hope to move on and play more games. I want to play. I've done a reasonable amount of training since January. It's the game situations I am looking forward to getting into now.

"Doing that has been a large part of my life and not to have that over the past couple of years has been difficult."

Gordon became the most expensive goalkeeper in British football when Sunderland paid £9m to take him from Hearts in 2007.
