Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre has had to have stitches in his ear after teammate Nadir Ciftci angrily reacted following a training-ground tackle.
Hoops boss Ronny Deila confirmed today that there was an incident between the two as the Scottish champions prepared for Wednesday's Scottish League Cup quarter-final against Hearts.
"We want intensity in training," Deila told reporters. "It was a tackle and a reaction and [Izaguirre] got hit in his ear. He had to go to get it stitched and he's fine for tomorrow.
"It was a reaction from another player to a tackle. I always say to my players I want 100%. They are very good at that."
Deila also said that both players were available for selection tomorrow.
"Sometimes it goes a little too hot and today there was an incident but I have talked with both players and everybody is ready for tomorrow," he added.
Celtic are the defending League Cup champions having ended their six-year wait for the crown earlier this year.
