Celtic have announced the signing of Danish midfielder Oliver Abildgaard on a season-long loan deal, subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old moves to Parkhead on a temporary deal for the 2022-23 campaign from Russian outfit Rubin Kazan.
Abildgaard, who completed his medical in Glasgow on Thursday evening, will wear the No.28 shirt for the Hoops and becomes Ange Postecoglou's ninth signing of the summer window.
Speaking to Celtic TV on his arrival at the club, Abildgaard said: "This is a day I've been very much looking forward to ever since I heard the possibility of coming here.
"I've been following the highlights recently, ever since I heard about the interest, and I've also been keeping my eye on Carl Starfelt as well ever since he moved here a year ago.
"He's been amazed by the club ever since he came here, and the life in Glasgow as well. He's enjoying it very much and he's only told me good things about it."
Abildgaard becomes the third player to join Celtic from Kazan within the last 12 months after centre-back Starfelt and Sead Haksabanovic, the latter of whom moved to Parkhead on a five-year deal last week.
The 6ft 4in midfielder began his career with Danish club Aalborg and spent five years in his homeland before joining Rubin Kazan in 2020.
The Denmark international went on to play 62 times for the Russian outfit across all competitions, including 22 appearances last season.
Abildgaard could make his debut for Celtic when they lock horns with bitter rivals Rangers in the Old Firm derby on Saturday lunchtime. body check tags ::
