Manchester United interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy is dealing with no fewer than eight injury concerns for Sunday's visit of Chelsea to Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The Red Devils thumped Leicester City 5-2 in Wednesday's EFL Cup last-16 clash, the first match since Erik ten Hag's sacking, but Christian Eriksen had to pull out of the matchday squad with a late injury.
It remains to be seen if the Dane can shake off his issue in time for the showdown with the Blues, which Antony (ankle), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Harry Maguire (calf), Mason Mount (knock), Luke Shaw (calf), Leny Yoro (foot) and Kobbie Mainoo (thigh) are all guaranteed to miss.
Should Eriksen not be given the green light to return, Van Nistelrooy should stick with the midfield pairing of Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro, the latter of whom was on target twice in the beating of Leicester.
Bruno Fernandes - who came up with his own confidence-boosting brace in midweek - pulls the strings in the number 10 role as ever, while Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford ought to be shoo-ins out wide.
Joshua Zirkzee was given the nod up front in midweek, but the Dutchman is yet to truly settle into the number nine slot at Man United, so Rasmus Hojlund may be preferred from the off this time around.
A couple of alterations are also in store in defence, where Noussair Mazraoui and Andre Onana are poised to replace Victor Lindelof and Altay Bayindir, but Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Diogo Dalot should reprise their roles.
Manchester United possible starting lineup:
Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot; Casemiro, Ugarte; Rashford, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund
