Celtic striker Gary Hooper has emerged as a target for Russian clubs CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg.
Southampton were favourites to sign Hooper but the Championship side have now completed a deal for Billy Sharp.
Despite Hooper recently dismissing claims he would leave Scotland in January, the two Russian sides are expected to make a move for the 24-year-old.
The Russian transfer window closes on February 24 but a move there could quickly materialise after Celtic completed the loan signing of Pawel Brozek.
Hooper has scored 16 goals for Celtic this season.
