Celtic reportedly failed with a loan offer for Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher on transfer deadline day.
It is believed that the Scottish champions made their approach for the 28-year-old on Tuesday afternoon.
However, despite the fact that Fletcher was keen to make the switch to Parkhead, the Black Cats rejected the proposal, according to BBC Sport.
Sunderland signed Fletcher from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2012 and has gone on to score 20 goals in 91 outings for the Wearsiders.
