Charlton Athletic are on course to end their 14-match run without a win as they lead Brentford 1-0 at half time of their Championship clash.
The Addicks were the first team to threaten when Johann Berg Gudmundsson lined up a strike from 25 yards which David Button failed to hold, but the visitors managed to clear the danger from the rebound.
The home side came within inches of taking the lead when Tony Watt collected the ball inside the penalty area and fired a strike towards goal, which looked destined for the corner before Button produced a diving save.
Charlton took the lead in the 27th minute as Gudmundsson coasted into the penalty and latched onto a cross from the left to steer a left-footed volley past a stranded Button and into the top corner.
