Simon Makienok has urged his Charlton Athletic teammates to build on their "perfect" win over Sheffield Wednesday and claw themselves to Championship safety.
The Addicks put an 11-game winless league run behind them at the weekend by cruising to a 3-1 victory at The Valley.
Makienok has acknowledged the importance of returning to winning ways, which leaves Charlton just one point behind 21st-place MK Dons, and he believes that the victory will now provide the perfect springboard to push on after the international break.
"To play almost the perfect game after being on such a tough run is hard to describe," he told the club's official website. "It was a really important victory because now we can get our confidence back and work on these things.
"We're very pleased with the win for ourselves and the fans. We have spoken about previous games and after the last game we spoke about how we could win more balls in the middle.
"Coming before the international break, we can build some confidence back and we have two weeks to work hard in training and get that under our skins before we play Birmingham."
Charlton follow up their meeting with Birmingham City by taking on Ipswich Town at the end of the month.
