Charlton Athletic and Nottingham Forest played out a 1-1 draw in the Championship this evening, thanks to goals from Andy Reid and Marvin Sordell.
Forest took the lead with only three minutes gone when former Athletic man Reid bent a free kick into the top corner to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.
Charlton almost levelled after 15 minutes when Rhoys Wiggins had a cross deflected into the path of Simon Church, who headed goalwards, but Karl Darlow pulled off a good save to turn the ball away for a corner.
Wiggins was the provider again soon after when he played in Sordell, but the striker's effort was well blocked by the Forest defence.
Despite their efforts going forward, Charlton nearly went in two behind but for great defensive work from Lawrie Wilson who slid in to clear off the line following a defensive mishap.
Charlton replied five minutes after the break when Sordell finished neatly with a poacher's goal to bring the score to 1-1.
The striker continued to trouble the Forest defence and he unleashed a 30-yard strike in 76th minute that flew just inches over the bar as Charlton pushed to take the lead.
The Athletic fans almost thought they had won it late on when Jordan Cousins released a ferocious strike which cannoned back off the woodwork, leaving the game to finish in a 1-1 draw.
