Roberto Di Matteo has praised his Chelsea team for their "terrific" 1-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League last night.
The Blues clinched the fist-leg victory after a 75th-minute effort from Salomon Kalou.
"Salomon has come into the team after a long spell out," Di Matteo said. "He got the goal and had a great game. Sometimes in life you have to take a little risk and, with all the games we are playing, it was important to select a team that had the energy for a high-tempo game like this.
"I am trying to involve all the players in the squad, as we are going to need them before the end of this season.
"But the whole squad was outstanding. It's a terrific result for us and an excellent performance."
