Former Schalke 04 striker Kevin Kuranyi has backed the team to beat Chelsea and finish at the top of their Champions League group.
The Germans welcome Chelsea to the Veltins-Arena tonight knowing that a win will put them level on points with the Group G leaders.
Kuranyi admits that the task is tough for Schalke, but he believes that his old club has what it takes to finish above Jose Mourinho's side.
"The situation is not easy, but Schalke can do it," he told Goal.com. "If they have a great day and Chelsea slip a little, I think Schalke have a good chance.
"If they win both matches, they will even top the group. They have everything in their own hands and that is a huge advantage."
Kuranyi scored 71 goals in 162 games for Schalke during a five-year spell that ended in 2010.
