Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on Maribor goalkeeper Jasmin Handanovic after he saved a penalty from Eden Hazard on the way to restricting the Blues to a 1-1 draw.
The Premier League leaders laid siege to Maribor's goal during the second half only to be denied by Handanovic, but Mourinho admitted that his team were made to pay for a poor showing in the opening 45 minutes.
The 51-year-old told Sky Sports News: "In the first half, we didn't play well. In the second half after their goal, we played very well and we should win the game.
"But, when you don't play well for 90 minutes, you are at risk, and in the last 30 minutes when we played really well and created many chances, the goalkeeper was magnificent. "
Chelsea are three points clear of Schalke 04 after the German outfit fell to a 4-2 defeat at Sporting Lisbon.
