Pat Nevin expects Chelsea to come out firing against Schalke 04

Pat Nevin believes that Chelsea will come firing out of the blocks when they take on Schalke in their opening Champions League group game on Wednesday.

Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin believes that the team will "go out all guns blazing" against Schalke 04 in this week's Champions League group opener.

Jose Mourinho's side have had a perfect start to the season with an unblemished record after four Premier League games.

On Wednesday, they turn their attention to the elite European competition, which Mourinho has never won with the West London outfit.

Nevin wrote in his column on the club's official website: "As is always the case, if you can get qualified early from the Champions League group stage, then it allows a little rest at a very important and busy time around December.

"This would help the manager juggling the group, when tiredness, injuries and suspensions start to kick in. So expect the Blues to go out all-guns-blazing against their opponents on Wednesday night, just like they did last season."

Chelsea have scored 15 goals already this season, seven of which have come from summer signing Diego Costa.
