Chelsea defender John Terry could receive an extended suspension for the red card that he was handed in the game against Barcelona last night.
The England international will serve an automatic one-match ban for his dismissal, which has ruled him out of the Champions League final in Munich next month.
However, UEFA's disciplinary panel may decide to increase the punishment if they find the 31-year-old guilty of violent conduct.
Terry was handed his marching orders for appearing to knee Barca striker Alexis Sanchez in the back at the Nou Camp.
His fate is likely to be announced on Wednesday, May 30.
Despite having to play around 50 minutes with 10 men, Chelsea held out for a 2-2 draw to progress through 3-2 on aggregate.
