Didier Drogba scored his first goal since his return to Chelsea as the West London outfit hammered Maribor 6-0 in the Champions League this evening.

Drogba converted from the penalty spot in between goals from Loic Remy and John Terry to hand the hosts a commanding 3-0 lead at the interval.

Mitja Viler then scored an own goal for the visitors before Eden Hazard netted a brace to cap off Chelsea's biggest ever victory in the competition.

Here, Sports Mole looks at which players impressed during an action-packed night at Stamford Bridge.

CHELSEA

Goal

Petr Cech: Had very little to do all night, with his toughest save coming from a bouncing effort shortly after Chelsea had taken the lead. (7/10)

Defence

Branislav Ivanovic: Spent the vast majority of his time inside the Maribor half as he posed a constant attacking threat. Won a penalty for his side - albeit a soft one - and was never troubled defensively. (8/10)

Kurt Zouma: A commanding Champions League debut for the youngster. He will have tougher tests in his fledgling career, but he looked composed and assured at the back this evening. (7/10)

John Terry: Played more like a Fabregas or Costa at times tonight. Created the first goal with a fine through-ball to Remy before grabbing one of his own having sprinted the length of the field to join a counter-attack. (8/10)

Filipe Luis: Danced his way into the box with brilliant footwork to eventually force the fourth goal, but didn't have quite as big a say on the match as Ivanovic on the opposite wing. (7/10)

Midfield

Nemanja Matic: Was as commanding as ever in the middle of the park, doing the dirty work well and also popping up in the opposition third on more than one occasion. Did give away a clumsy penalty, but that had no impact on the result. (7/10)

Cesc Fabregas: Another classy display from the Spaniard, who ran the game from midfield during his time on the field. Got the assist for Terry's goal, and virtually every single one of his passes was nigh-on perfect. (8/10)

Willian: Won the first penalty for his side, although it was a harsh one from the ref. Came close to a wonder goal in the second half, but was unfortunate to see his long-range strike smash the crossbar. (7/10)

Oscar: Came close with a lovely curling effort that flew narrowly past the post, and looked confident and creative in possession throughout. (7/10)

Eden Hazard: The best player on the park. Caused the Maribor defence all sorts of problems with his mazy runs and quick feet, and could have had more than the two goals he managed. Took his penalty well, while his second strike was the pick of the bunch. Also forced the own goal and was heavily involved in Terry's strike. (9/10)

Attack

Loic Remy: Set Chelsea on their way with a fine curling finish into the bottom corner, but injured himself in the process and was forced off shortly afterwards. (7/10)

Substitutes

Didier Drogba: Replaced Remy in the 16th minute and re-opened his account for the club from the spot shortly afterwards. Held the ball up well throughout and was a disruptive presence for the Maribor defence all night. (7/10)

Nathan Ake: Made a number of good challenges during his 30 minutes on the field and capped off a decent cameo with the ball over the top that led to Hazard's second. (7/10)

Dominic Solanke: Replaced Oscar with just over 15 minutes to go and had a couple of touches, but this one was more about the experience for the 17-year-old. (6/10)

MARIBOR

Goal

Jasmin Handanovic: Conceded six goals, but didn't have a chance of saving any of them. Made one or two decent stops otherwise, but spent most of his time picking the ball out of the back of the net. (5/10)

Defence

Petar Stojanovic: Was given the runaround by Hazard at times and was powerless to resist the Belgian in full flow. Had a few clear crossing chances but his final ball was usually disappointing. (4/10)

Aleksander Rajcevic: Despite his side conceding six goals, he had a better time of things than last weekend, when he scored two own goals. Struggled against such a strong Chelsea attack, though. (5/10)

Marko Suler: Can feel unlucky to be penalised for a foul on Ivanovic inside the box when there appeared to be very little contact. Also found it difficult against a Chelsea side in full flow, though. (4/10)

Mitja Viler: Chelsea had plenty of joy down his flank, with Ivanovic constantly finding space. Also struggled with Hazard when the Belgian switched wings, and netted the own goal having lost the attacker at the back post. (4/10)

Midfield

Alex Mejac: Started the game fairly brightly, but was soon outclassed like the rest of his teammates. It was a thankless task for the Maribor midfield today. (5/10)

Ales Mertelj: Gave away the first penalty for a handball inside the box and, although it did strike his arm, he can feel unlucky to have been penalised given the proximity between him and Willian. (4/10)

Zeljka Filipovic: Anonymous for large periods as he spent most of his time chasing shadows in midfield. Simply came up against vastly superior players today. (5/10)

Damjan Bohar: Squandered the first chance of the match with a wayward header, and was barely heard of again. Struggled to get anything going in attack and did not track Ivanovic's many runs forward. (4/10)

Attack

Marcos Tavares: Failed to make much of an impact on the Chelsea defence, who comfortably dealt with the Brazilian before he was withdrawn in the 72nd minute. (5/10)

Agim Ibraimi: Looked most likely to make something happen for his side, but most of his shots were from too far out to really trouble a keeper of Cech's pedigree. Won the penalty for his side, but then missed it as his effort struck the foot of the post. (5/10)

Substitutes

Dare Vrsic: Replaced Viler just before the hour and failed to make much of an impact on the match as Chelsea's domination continued. (5/10)

Luka Zahovic: Was surprisingly left on the bench despite being Maribor's top scorer this season, but could not make a difference having come on with a little over 20 minutes remaining. (6/10)

Jean Philippe Mendy: Came on for Tavares with the game already lost, and could do nothing about Hazard netting twice more to complete the rout. (6/10)
