Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that the club are desperate to win the Europa League final on Wednesday against Benfica at the Amsterdam ArenA.
The Blues can become the first-ever club to win the competition off the back of Champions League success, but largely due to the fact that they are the first European Cup holders to crash out in the group stages.
However, Lampard admits that, while they were disappointed to be in the tournament to start with, the Londoners have grown to love it.
"You can't have it your own way every year. We were lucky enough to have had a great run to the Champions League final and win it last year," Lampard told Sky Sports News.
"At first we were disappointed to end up in the Europa League. But the more we have been involved in it, the more we have learned to love it. We wanted to progress and the closer we got to the final, the more we wanted to be here."
Elsewhere, reports have surfaced claiming that Lampard has signed a new deal with Chelsea.
