Head coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Chelsea defender Reece James will miss Thursday's Premier League fixture at Norwich City with a muscular problem.
After spending two months on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, James has recently returned and made a positive impact, getting on the scoresheet as Chelsea thrashed Burnley last weekend.
However, the right wing-back picked up an issue during the fixture at Turf Moor, and Tuchel has suggested that the England international could be absent for matches beyond the game at Carrow Road.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Tuchel said: "Reece James has muscular problems after his last three appearances. Not the previous injured leg, the other leg. We need examination. We thought that he could be on the pitch today, but he couldn't.
"He felt it during the match and it didn't get better, so we are worried. Today, there will be further examinations. It's obvious what he can give to our team, so not good news at the moment."
Chelsea play four matches in 10 days before the international break, with Newcastle United, Lille and Middlesbrough to follow the trip to the Canaries.
