Head coach Thomas Tuchel says that a knee injury is likely to keep N'Golo Kante out of Chelsea's Premier League fixture with Manchester United.

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed that N'Golo Kante is likely to miss Sunday's Premier League fixture against Manchester United.

The Frenchman needed to be withdrawn during the first half of the Champions League meeting with Juventus in midweek, immediately putting his participation at the weekend in doubt.

While Tuchel has talked up the chances of Kante returning early next month, the German feels that a minor knee injury will keep him on the sidelines this weekend.

Speaking to reporters, Tuchel said: "N'Golo twisted his knee a little bit. It feels quite better since the game but it seems like he will be out for some days.

"It's a matter of one week, maybe. We still have a little bit of hope, but it would almost be a miracle if he makes it."

At the same press conference, Tuchel acknowledged that Ben Chilwell had suffered a partial tear of his ACL during the same game. body check tags ::
