Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed that Thibaut Courtois returned to training on Friday morning ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Courtois missed Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield United on Wednesday night with a back problem, and it had initially been feared that the Belgium international could miss the FA Cup final against Manchester United on May 19.
The 25-year-old is in line to return against Newcastle this weekend, however, as he looks to prove his fitness ahead of the clash with United at Wembley.
"Today Courtois trained. He will be in contention for Newcastle," Conte told reporters.
Chelsea can still finish fourth in the Premier League table, but they must beat Newcastle and hope that Liverpool slip up at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
