Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has revealed that John Terry is doubtful for this Sunday's FA Cup clash against Manchester City due to a hamstring injury.
The club captain suffered the problem during the Blues' 5-1 victory over Newcastle United at the weekend.
It was confirmed on Monday afternoon that the defender will not be included in the squad for tomorrow's Champions League last-16 clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
"It was not a decision made by me," Hiddink told reporters. "He was having too much trouble to travel, even to try tomorrow. We made a test and it didn't work out well so the decision was made to leave him at home.
"He was himself convinced he could not be of worth in this game. He has a little problem on a tendon in the hamstring area. It is difficult to know if he will be back for the weekend. That's why we prefer to have him in Cobham where he can undergo treatment.
"It's a bit of a setback but I'm not a coach to go on moaning. We go on and we have the players can replace him."
Terry's long-term future at Stamford Bridge remains unclear as the club are yet to offer him a new contract.
