Michael Laudrup: 'We still have a mountain to climb'

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup refuses to get carried away following his team's 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has admitted that his side are by no means home and dry in their League Cup semi-final against Chelsea, despite tonight's 2-0 win in the first leg of the tie.

The Dane was quick to praise his players following the Stamford Bridge victory, but pointed out that the Blues are capable of scoring goals in the return leg.

"We've had some historic results already this season but to win here is very special. We had to defend a lot, they had a lot of possession but to be honest they only had three good chances all night," he told reporters.

"There is still a mountain to climb, Chelsea have so much quality. We will have to play with the same intensity, they can still win and can score three or four goals against us."

The Swans boss also addressed Demba Ba's late disallowed goal for Chelsea, insisting that the Senegalese international's strike was offside.

"Demba Ba's goal was offside, it was very tight but it was offside. They gave us two goals but you have to score them," he added.

"It was a marvellous fight, we are a team that always try to play but when you play the European champions away you have to change."

Swansea welcome Chelsea to the Liberty Stadium for the second leg on January 23.
