Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata has declared that the best way to recover from Sunday's disappointing defeat to Manchester United is to gain revenge in the League Cup in midweek.
Mata inspired the Blues to fight back from a two-goal deficit against United, scoring a free kick in the top-of-the-table clash.
United benefited from a two-man advantage to score a late winner at Stamford Bridge through Javier Hernandez.
The Spanish midfielder believes that an ideal response would be to beat Sir Alex Ferguson's side when they resume hostilities on Wednesday.
He told The Sun: "It was a very important match for us, first against second, and we were eager to win in order to open a gap at the top of the table.
"But football keeps going, there is no time to look back.
"We are again facing United, again at Stamford Bridge, and I hope we can win and forget the defeat."
Roberto Di Matteo's side remain top of the Premier League despite slipping to their first defeat of the season against the Red Devils.
