Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has hailed Eden Hazard as one of the best players in world football following his match-winning cameo off the bench during this evening's EFL Cup game against Liverpool at Anfield.
Hazard was introduced as a 56th-minute sub for the Blues and saw his side fall behind to Daniel Sturridge's opener just two minutes later, but after Emerson Palmieri had levelled things up the Belgian stole the show with a stunning winner.
Hazard danced past a string of defenders before lashing an unstoppable strike past Simon Mignolet to complete the turnaround, and Zola believes that the best could still be to come from him too.
"It's a fantastic goal. Not only the beauty of it but for the time he scored it," Zola told Sky Sports News after the match.
"Not only is he one of the best in the Premier League - if not the best - but he is one of the best in Europe and the world. In my opinion we haven't seen the best of him yet. He's remarkable.
"It's a big win but to be fair it was a close game. Liverpool could have won. It's fair to say they are a brilliant team. Saturday will be a completely different game. I hope it is as beautiful as today."
Liverpool and Chelsea will renew acquaintances on Saturday when they face off in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
