Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly primed to receive takeover bids for the London club this week.
The Russian oligarch recently announced that he was handing over his "stewardship and care" of the European champions to the club's charitable foundation following the invasion of Ukraine.
The move comes amid fears that Abramovich's assets could be frozen as part of sanctions on Russia, although the handover of stewardship is yet to be completed amid concerns from the trustees over the sudden change.
Abramovich is not thought to have any interest in selling Chelsea, but according to The Telegraph, the 55-year-old is set to receive takeover bids in the coming days.
The report adds that interested parties believe that Abramovich could consider offers for the first time since assuming control of the capital club back in 2003.
Abramovich is reportedly trying to negotiate a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine as a Russian convoy advances towards Kyiv. body check tags ::
