Former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has been installed in Shanghai Shenhua's new coaching staff after three months playing for the club.
The Frenchman, along with ex-Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Ian Walker, Dan Harris, Alioune Kissima and Jean-Florent Ikwange Ibenge, has been implemented in the new system following the departure of three assistant coaches.
The Chinese club's manager Jean Tigana has managed to keep hold of his job, despite reports suggesting that the former Fulham boss was close to getting the axe.
"The main reason for changing the assistant coaches is to strengthen the team's daily training," club owner Zhu Jun told Xinmin Evening News.
Shenhua have had a disappointing start to the season, taking just five points from their last five games.
