Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has claimed that Billy Gilmour has 'the right personality' to be a success at Stamford Bridge.
Having initially made his first-team debut as a substitute against Sheffield United earlier this season, Gilmour was handed his first start in Wednesday's EFL Cup tie with Grimsby Town.
The 18-year-old starred as the Blues registered a 7-1 win over the League Two outfit, and Fabregas was quick to comment on Gilmour after learning that the academy graduate had spoken highly of him in the past.
On Twitter, the Spaniard said: "He played amazing tonight. Personality is the most important at this age and he's got it all right.
"Now time to keep learning and taking advantage of these games to prove the coach he's good enough.'
Gilmour will hope to feature when Chelsea face Manchester United in the next round of the competition.
