Chelsea 'leading race for Lucas Digne'

:Headline: Chelsea 'leading race for Lucas Digne':
Chelsea reportedly emerge as the clear frontrunners to secure a January deal for Everton defender Lucas Digne.

Chelsea are reportedly regarded as the most likely destination for Everton defender Lucas Digne.

Despite his status as a key player at Goodison Park in the past, disagreements with current manager Rafael Benitez are expected to lead to his departure in January.

A number of clubs are likely to be monitoring the situation, particularly Chelsea and Inter Milan, who operate with a central defensive three and wing-backs.

However, according to Inter Dipendenza, the Premier League giants are the clear frontrunners for the Frenchman's signature.

While acknowledging that Inter scouts have taken a look at the 28-year-old, the report claims that the player has never been 'a concrete target'.

Chelsea require a replacement for the injured Ben Chilwell, leading to the Blues identifying Digne as a target earlier in the month. body check tags ::
