Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer would prefer to extend his deal with the Bundesliga champions rather than leave for Chelsea, according to a report.
The 34-year-old will see his current deal at the Allianz Arena expire in 2021, and Frank Lampard's side have been strongly linked with a swoop for the veteran shot-stopper.
Recent reports have suggested that Neuer turned down Bayern's most recent offer of a new contract, but the Germany international is said to be hopeful that an agreement with the Bavarian giants can be reached.
According to Sky Germany, Neuer is looking to extend his stay at Bayern, but is keen to see how the arrival of Schalke's Alexander Nubel will affect his playing time.
However, the report also claims that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has hindered negotiations between the two parties, with Germany's top flight set to resume on April 30 at the earliest.
Neuer has won seven Bundesliga titles and one Champions League with Bayern since arriving from Schalke in 2011.
