West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has revealed that he has been delighted with the impact of on-loan striker Romelu Lukaku during the club's impressive start to the Premier League season.
The 19-year-old, who has joined the club on a season-long loan from Chelsea, netted a goal on his debut against Liverpool, and Clarke is hopeful that the Belgian forward can live up to his promise to score goals for the club.
Clarke said: "I promised him that we would improve him as a player and hopefully I can live up to that promise.
"He promised to do his best for the club and work as hard as he could and score a lot of goals for us, so hopefully he can live up to his promise as well.
"I've been delighted with him and he's made a good contribution to a really good start to the season for us."
Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht last summer but he was limited to just one Premier League start.
