Chelsea boss Antonio Conte: 'Pedro dived against Norwich City'

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte admits that Pedro 'dived' to try to win a penalty against Norwich City on Wednesday night.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has acknowledged that Pedro 'dived' against Norwich City on Wednesday night, although claims that an incident involving Alvaro Morata was open to interpretation.

The Blues prevailed on penalties in the FA Cup third-round replay against the Canaries, but Pedro and Morata both received yellow cards for diving before later being sent off for a second caution.

Willian was unfortunate to be carded for an alleged dive during extra time, but Conte has admitted that Pedro was guilty of trying to deceive the officials.

At a press conference, the 48-year-old said: "I must be honest I watched the three situations. I think Willian was very clear, it was a big mistake.

"Morata I think there is a fall, then you can decide to concede a penalty. There is a contact, not a dive. You have to accept Pedro was diving.

"In this situation the player is intelligent to understand when you make a mistake. He understood his mistake."

Both players are suspended for Chelsea's away fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
