Roberto Di Matteo has reportedly already been interviewed by Chelsea directors over the possibility of becoming the next permanent manager at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian has guided the Blues to nine wins in 12 matches since taking the job on an interim basis following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas last month.
As well gaining impressive results on the field, Di Matteo has put forward his case to technical director Michael Emenalo in the form of a professional pitch, according to The Express.
Glenn Hoddle had stated his belief that Di Matteo is in pole position for the job.
