Former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri believes that if Roberto Di Matteo wants to keep the Blues job full-time he will have to bring a trophy to Stamford Bridge and clinch fourth spot in the Premier League.
The 41-year-old caretaker boss has had an impressive term at the helm of the former English champions by leading his side to the FA Cup final following their 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley yesterday.
The London club are also in contention to reach the Champions League final if they can overcome holders Barcelona in two legs, with the first encounter taking place on Wednesday.
"Roberto has started very well," Ranieri told BBC Sport. "Roberto is the right man to do something good there. If he achieves the FA Cup and fourth place, then why not?"
Chelsea have accumulated nine wins from 12 matches since Di Matteo took charge.
