Burnley manager Sean Dyche has claimed that Nathaniel Chalobah's performance was one of the few positives from his side's 4-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who is on loan to the Clarets from Chelsea until January, impressed after coming on during the second half at The Hawthorns.
Dyche has said that the England Under-21 international should be pleased with his first experience of Premier League football.
"Nathaniel was definitely a positive," Clubcall.com quotes Dyche as saying.
"He's a young man earning his spurs in football. We wanted him to go and get the ball and play, and I thought he did that.
"Nathaniel is a young man, and it was a big game for us. I was close to starting him, but we wanted to go with that bit of experience."
Chalobah has previously been loaned out to Watford, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.
