Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has made an appearance for the club's reserve side as he looks to maintain his fitness ahead of finding a new club.
The 33-year-old has been without a team since his release from Panathinaikos but he was given an opportunity to pull on a Blues shirt once again in a friendly against a Brentford XI.
Essien - who was associated with the West Londoners between 2005 and 2014 - featured in a side that included many of the players out of first-team contention at Stamford Bridge.
Dominic Solanke and Loic Remy netted the goals as Chelsea claimed a 2-1 win.
