Guus Hiddink's agent Cees van Nieuwenhuizen has claimed that the Dutchman is unlikely to take the England managerial role due to his "strong personal relationship" with Chelsea captain John Terry.
The main reason behind Fabio Capello's decision to resign from his post is arguably the Football Association's decision to dismiss Terry from the England captaincy due to allegations of racial abuse.
Hiddink has been reported as a contender for the coaching role. However, the manager's agent has played down a move and cites his relationship with Terry as the main stumbling block.
"I don't, based on previous conversations with England FA board members, imagine that it would work," Van Nieuwenhuizen told The Telegraph.
"Guus also has a very strong personal relationship with John Terry and would be on his side in all this."
Hiddink has known the 31-year-old defender for some time since taking charge at Chelsea on a temporary basis in 2009.
