Glenn Hoddle would "love" Chelsea return

Former Chelsea manager Glenn Hoddle tells Sports Mole that he would relish the oppourtunity to have a second stint in charge of the club.

Glenn Hoddle has admitted that he would jump at the opportunity to manage Chelsea again.

The 54-year-old had a three-year stint in charge at Stamford Bridge until 1996 when he left to coach England.

Speaking exclusively to Sports Mole this afternoon, Hoddle revealed that he would like to be considered for the Chelsea vacancy, should they consider an English appointment.

"If they were going to change their policy and go English, I would love [to return]," said the former Three Lions boss. "When I took over at Chelsea there was nowhere near that strength of squad now.

"If they were going to appoint an Englishman I would definitely love to go back there.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time there."

However, Hoddle is not expecting to receive a call from Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, believing that the Blues are likely to appoint a foreigner to the helm.

"Going back to Chelsea would be very interesting but I think they'll go foreign, I really do," he added. "Eventually they may go English because of the culture divide. Who knows?"

Chelsea are seeking a new manager after taking the decision to sack Andre-Villas Boas on Sunday afternoon.

Hoddle was speaking to Sports Mole at Loftus Road during the launch of the 20-20 Football's Elite Legend Cup.
