Frank Leboeuf has given his backing to Roberto Di Matteo to become the new full-time manager of Chelsea.
The Italian has only lost one game since being installed as the interim coach following Andre Villas-Boas's sacking.
A number of big-name coaches, such as Jose Mourinho and Laurent Blanc, have been linked with the Stamford Bridge hot seat.
However, the former Chelsea defender has said that the Blues could already have their man at the helm.
"If Di Matteo takes them through [to the Champions League semi-final], surely he should be nailed on to get the job," the 44-year-old told talkSPORT.
"I don't know why Roman Abramovich would spend so much money on another coach who doesn't guarantee results.
"If Di Matteo does well during this trial period and shows that his commitment and tactics are great for the club, why not keep him?"
The former France international played for Chelsea between 1996 and 2001.
