David Luiz has insisted that Rafael Benitez deserves credit for masterminding "a good season" at Chelsea.
Benitez, who has been linked with the vacant manager's post at Napoli, was largely unpopular among supporters at Stamford Bridge during his six-month spell as Blues interim boss.
Nevertheless, the West London club finished the season third in the Premier League table and also won the Europa League.
Defender Luiz told The Sun: "If you can be professional when everything is against you, that is amazing.
"We won the Europa League and qualified for the Champions League because he is a fantastic coach.
"I learned a lot with him. When you win another European title, of course it's a good season."
Benitez's final game in charge of Chelsea was a 5-3 friendly defeat to Manchester City on Saturday evening.
