Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso has been handed a three-match ban by the Football Association for his act of violent conduct on Southampton striker Shane Long.
The Spain international will now miss Sunday's FA Cup semi-final clash with the same opponents, as well as Premier League games with Burnley and Swansea City either side.
Alonso was caught stamping on the back of Long's leg in Saturday's dramatic 3-2 win for Chelsea at St Mary's - a foul boss Mark Hughes described as 'a possible leg-breaker' after the match.
After denying the charge, which went unpunished at the time, the 27-year-old will now miss three matches as the FA has upheld its original verdict.
Blues boss Antonio Conte may now turn to Emerson Palmieri to plug the gap left by Alonso, who was named in the PFA Team of the Year on Wednesday.
