West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel is hopeful that history can repeat itself when Jose Mourinho takes Chelsea to The Hawthorns on Tuesday evening.
Both managers previously clashed during their respective spells in Spain, where Mourinho's Real Madrid team went down 1-0 the 50-year-old's Real Betis side 15 months ago.
"It's possible to win. I recall when Mourinho was the coach of Real Madrid and I was coach at Betis, but we beat them 1-0," he told reporters.
"I got the better of him on that occasion, and although it wasn't the best win of my career, it was important for the players. What happened then can serve as a message to the West Brom players."
Tonight's Premier League encounter is scheduled to kick off at 8pm.
