MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has heaped praise on new Crystal Palace striker Patrick Bamford, insisting that the youngster "deserves" to be playing top-flight football.
Bamford was named the Championship Player of the Year last season having helped Middlesbrough to the playoff final with 17 league goals in 38 appearances.
The 20-year-old signed a new three-year deal with parent club Chelsea this afternoon before joining Palace on loan, and Robinson, who managed Bamford while the pair were together during the 2012-13 season, believes that the Eagles have bagged themselves a born goalscorer.
"He deserves to be in the Premier League. His dream is to play for Chelsea, but this is the next step in his development to make that happen," Robinson told talkSPORT.
"He's still extremely young. I'm sure the fans of Crystal Palace will be really excited about getting him. He is streets ahead of other people in his movement and he's always going to score goals because of that.
"He's always seemed to answer any questions he's had with goals wherever he's been."
Bamford is yet to make a senior appearance for Chelsea.
