Daniel Sturridge has said that it is wrong for people to rule Chelsea out of the race for the Premier League title.
The England striker scored Chelsea's goal in their disappointing 1-1 draw with Wigan that has left them nine points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
Despite dropping points, the England striker has insisted that his side will continue to fight to climb the league table.
"It is frustrating for everyone and it is important that we bounce back, which we will," said Sturridge.
"We have done that in the last few weeks when we have had difficult games and we have stepped up, and we will step up in the next game and continue to fight for the Premier League.
"There are still five months to go and I think people would be stupid to assume Chelsea are out of the title race. We are going to fight to the very last game.
"It is the best league in the world because every team in the top six can win it. We are one of them and I believe we can."
Sturridge signed for Chelsea in 2009.
