Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has heaped praise on Conor Gallagher, acknowledging that the midfielder is 'standing out every week' during his loan spell at Crystal Palace.
The England Under-21 international has received widespread praise for his performances at Selhurst Park, his latest contribution helping the Eagles defeat Manchester City last weekend.
While the 21-year-old got on the scoresheet at the Etihad Stadium, his overall performances in the middle of the pitch have caught the eye.
Quizzed on whether Gallagher could represent Chelsea next season, Tuchel hinted that the academy graduate was well on the way to earning an opportunity at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Tuchel said: "He's not hard to follow because he is standing out every single week. All the credit to him. We had long talks in pre-season, we could imagine that he stays and fights for his place here.
"We decided all together when the possibility came with Patrick Vieira to go to Crystal Palace, once he understood the role that he can have at the club, and he wanted to take on the challenge. We thought that this can be the right thing to do.
"Conor's heart is so, so big. He loves football. He could wake up at 4am and start collecting balls and winning duels. He has the trust of club and manager."
Gallagher has contributed three goals and two assists during his nine Premier League starts this season. body check tags ::
