Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has been named African Player of the Year for the third time.
The Ivorian fended off competition from Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel as well Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba to win the prestigious honour.
"I am very proud and very happy to receive this award, but would also like to congratulate my brothers, John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba," Toure is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
Toure moved to City from Barcelona in 2010.
