Marco van Ginkel has hinted that he is still hopeful of returning to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell at AC Milan.
The Dutch midfielder was tracked by the Serie A club for most of the summer before eventually joining on loan, but he is optimistic that he can be a success at Stamford Bridge in the future.
"AC Milan wanted me for a long time and did everything to get me," the 21-year-old told the Milan Channel. "That is good for a player to know. We play with two attacking midfielders and a defensive one. I think I am more of an attacking one.
"Right now I am focused entirely on Milan, but I'm happy with the fact that Chelsea didn't put an option to buy in the loan."
Van Ginkel made just four appearances for Chelsea last season due to a knee ligament injury.
