Tottenham Hotspur's 24-year wait for a win at Stamford Bridge continued this evening as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of league leaders Chelsea.

Two goals in three minutes from Eden Hazard and Didier Drogba respectively gave the hosts a healthy half-time lead, before Loic Remy added a third with just under 20 minutes remaining.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who stood out during the midweek London derby.

CHELSEA

Goal

Thibaut Courtois: Could get nowhere near Kane's header that hit the bar, but was barely troubled beyond that. A spectator for the most part, and another clean sheet in the bag. (7/10)

Defence

Branislav Ivanovic: As usual did not need a second invitation to get forward and provided a useful outlet for his side. Also tended to his defensive duties expertly. (7/10)

Gary Cahill: Took an early blow to the head and looked shaky for a few minutes afterwards, losing Kane inside the box once and then being dispossessed by the same player moments later. Steadied himself as the half wore on, but was taken off at the break. (6/10)

John Terry: The leader of such a solid defensive unit. Kept Spurs at bay throughout despite the visitors enjoying the lion's share of possession. (7/10)

Cesar Azpilicueta: Picked up the assist for Remy's goal and carried out his other duties very well on the night. Perhaps could have stopped the cross that led to Kane hitting the woodwork, but that is a minor blotch on his copybook. (7/10)

Midfield

Nemanja Matic: That Spurs had so much possession yet rarely troubled Courtois was largely down to the presence of Matic. Another imperious display in central midfield. (7/10)

Cesc Fabregas: Not his most eye-catching performance of the season, but still very tidy in possession and kept his side moving at all times. (7/10)

Willian: Worked so hard both on and off the ball, leading numerous breaks and winning the ball back quickly when Spurs were in possession. Could have done more with a few sights of goal, though. (7/10)

Oscar: Linked with Hazard, Willian and Drogba to great effect. Got the assist for Drogba's goal and was a creative hub for his side throughout. (7/10)

Eden Hazard: Such a tricky player to deal with when he is in this form. Twisted and turned his way into numerous good positions and picked up the opening goal following a lovely one-two with Drogba. (8/10)

Attack

Didier Drogba: Lasted just 67 minutes, but that was enough for the veteran to wreak havoc. Got the assist for the opener before getting on the scoresheet himself moments later with a clinical finish. (8/10)

Substitutes

Kurt Zouma: Replaced Cahill at the break and helped Chelsea protect Courtois throughout the second half. A solid display from the youngster. (7/10)

Loic Remy: Showed that even Chelsea's third-choice striker can be dangerous. Wrapped up the points with a fine goal, twisting past Vertonghen and coolly slotting the ball home. (7/10)

John Obi Mikel: Came on for Fabregas with just under 15 minutes remaining and helped keep Spurs at bay in the closing stages. (6/10)

TOTTENHAM

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Usually so reliable, but this was not his finest outing. Could have done better at his near post for the opening goal and then gifted possession to Chelsea for the second shortly afterwards. (4/10)

Defence

Vlad Chiriches: Came up against an in-form Eden Hazard, and it showed. Struggled to deal with the Belgian winger throughout and couldn't offer much going forward either. (5/10)

Federico Fazio: Did not have an easy time of things up against the power of Drogba, but didn't shirk away from the challenge. Can't really be faulted for any of the goals. (6/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Was brushed aside far too easily by Remy for the third goal, being wrong-footed by the Frenchman's turn and then falling to the ground. (5/10)

Ben Davies: Could not provide much going forward due to the constant threat of Willian countering down his side. Put in a solid display in tough conditions, though. (6/10)

Midfield

Ryan Mason: Gave the ball away on a number of occasions and, despite his enthusiasm and desire, was simply outclassed in midfield. Replaced shortly before the hour mark. (5/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: Arguably his side's best player on the night. Broke up a number of attacks and showed some good skill and composure on the ball despite the quality of the players up against him. (7/10)

Aaron Lennon: Made a bright start to the match and almost grabbed an assist when his cross was headed against the bar by Kane. Faded as the game wore on, though. (6/10)

Erik Lamela: An ineffective performance from the Argentine, who failed to provide the spark of creativity needed to break down a stubborn Chelsea defence. (5/10)

Christian Eriksen: Similarly anonymous for large spells. Should have stood out more considering how much possession Spurs had, but was afforded no space to weave his magic. (6/10)

Attack

Harry Kane: Was a real threat in the opening 15 minutes, heading an effort against the bar and robbing Cahill of possession to fire another one just wide. However, faded out of the match after Chelsea's goals and could not trouble the hosts further. (7/10)

Substitutes

Paulinho: Came on for Mason just before the hour mark but could not provide Spurs with any more attacking threat from midfield. (6/10)

Nacer Chadli: Part of a double change with Paulinho and also struggled to make an impact on the game as Chelsea continued to contain the visitors. (6/10)

Roberto Soldado: Replaced Lamela immediately after Chelsea's third and did not have a chance to restore some pride for his side. (6/10)
