Serie A giants AC Milan have reportedly ruled out a move for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud in favour of a younger player.
Despite finding himself starting more games under Frank Lampard as of late, Giroud's Stamford Bridge future is still shrouded in uncertainty heading into the January transfer window.
The 34-year-old is about to enter the final six months of his deal with Chelsea, and Giroud has been tipped to move to Italy amid speculation over his next career move.
However, Tuttosport claims that Milan do not intend to swoop for the former Arsenal man despite taking an initial interest in Giroud.
The report claims that the Rossoneri are looking to strike a deal for a younger frontman, with Stefano Pioli planning for life after Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is still in prolific form but turns 40 next year.
Giroud has struck eight times in all competitions this season for Chelsea, who next face a London derby with West Ham United on Monday evening.
