Chelsea are reportedly ready to conduct another piece of transfer business with Strasbourg.
Both clubs are under the ownership of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, the French club effectively being used as a home for some of Chelsea's prospects.
During the 2022-23 campaign, Angelo Gabriel and Andrey Santos each spent loan spells at the Ligue 1 outfit, the Brazilian pair benefitting from their stints at Stade de la Meinau.
Santos has already returned on a season-long loan deal for 2024-25, while it was revealed over the weekend that young American full-back Caleb Wiley had also made the switch to Strasbourg.
As a result, Chelsea have already used two of their allotted six foreign loans, the likelihood being that they will now plan how to use the remaining four.
Chelsea ready to sell Moreira
On Monday, reports emerged which suggested that Chelsea were ready to allow Diego Moreira to make the switch to Strasbourg on a temporary basis.
However, in a fresh report by journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who was commenting on X, Chelsea will instead sell the winger.
Tavolieri has revealed that the intention is for Moreira to sign for Strasbourg in a €2m (£1.7m) deal, with the Premier League outfit possessing a buy-back clause.
Chelsea purchased the 20-year-old on a free transfer last summer and stand to make pure profit in the eyes of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.
Is Moreira likely to earn game time at Strasbourg?
Former Benfica youngster Moreira is no stranger to Ligue 1 having spent the first half of last season on loan at Lyon, where he made seven appearances in the top flight.
That said, just 271 minutes were accumulated across those outings and the decision was made to return to Chelsea at the midway point of the campaign.
He would contribute five goals from nine appearances in Premier League 2, proving to be a key man at that level of football from January onwards.
With regards to the first team at Chelsea, though, Moreira has played just one match, a 45-minute outing against AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup second round last August.
