Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has reportedly emerged as a potential loan target for Atletico Madrid.
While Alonso has enjoyed a successful period at Stamford Bridge since joining in 2016, the left-back has fallen down the pecking order since the appointment of Frank Lampard.
The 28-year-old has not featured since being substituted at half time of the Champions League fixture with Ajax on November 5, with Cesar Azpilicueta now being used as an alternative to Emerson Palmieri.
According to Cadena Cope, Atletico will now attempt to benefit by attempting to agree a loan deal with Chelsea and the Spain international.
Despite having a number of options at full-back, Diego Simeone is keen to add fresh faces to his squad after a below-par opening half to the campaign.
Alonso still has over three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.
